The New Jersey Turnpike Authority project marked Earle’s largest resurfacing endeavor to date, spanning from April 2023 to October 2023. The scope involved a substantial twelve-inch excavation on both left shoulders, spanning the entire project’s length. The excavation was backfilled with six inches of dense graded aggregate and capped with six inches of hot mix asphalt. Earle successfully navigated around the allowable lane closure hours (the project was positioned on the heavily traveled New Jersey Turnpike), which necessitated all open excavations to be filled before the end of each shift. The reconstruction and resurfacing required a precise orchestration of trucking, equipment, and labor forces operating in sixteen-hour shifts. Following the successful shoulder reconstruction, the Earle team then milled and paved nearly 13 miles in both directions for a full resurfacing of the existing roadway.
